Tamiya Line Up Discrepancies

Why are there so many more cars appearing in Tamiya's 1/10 R/C line than in the 1/24 model kit line?
Is it simply that they only release the cars they think they'll make money on? Surely they must think someone would buy Mugen Integras (RSXs) and HKS Altezza kits... (both of which are available as R/C bodies...) :(

Last I heard the Altezza body was not allowed as a race body in certain R/C touring car races, may have changed now though.
What I think it really comes down to is the Japanese market(why do you think they made a model of the Honda Fit?) and since the R/C folks in Japan and the East may like those body styles, it could be that is why they are bringing them out in R/C first? Just a thought....my little 'conspiracy theory'

good point Jay, id love to see some models of the cars they make in 1/10. but you do have to realize that making a body is much much easier than replicating the entire car. you have to worry about tooling the interior, the suspension, the chassis, etc. (i wish that my list included the engine but i will leave that can of worms unopened). my point is that making bodies is easy. especially when it comes to 1/10 scale since i think they are usually universal sized to fit certain RC chassi(s)

I wonder the same thing...i was really hoping they would do the new BTCC Volvo touring car and a few other but never did. Its a real shame really as IMO they dont seem to sell to what most people want
