Door dome light switch sticking

My silverado drivers door has a bad habit of the interior light switch sticking in the "door open" position after a rain fall followed by freezing temps. To explain it better the dome light stays on after I shut the door and the only way to make it go out is to use the button on the headlight panel to override the interior lights.I want to find out where this switch is in the door so I can take the panel off and spray it down with something to help displace the moisture so that I dont have to wait for a warm day for it to start acting normal again.

I am a bit confused. What model is your Silverado? from your description, it sounds like the switch is located on the roof next to the dome light.. is that correct? if that is the case. Why would you be looking for the switch in the door?

The switch I'm refering to is the one that activates the dome light when the door is opened which is why I tend to think it's in the door as the old type used to be on the cab pillar in the form of a spring loaded pin.

I do believe but probably wrong that the switch is in the door latch itself. I had my doors apart for speaker installation and seen wires leading up to latch. Truck does not have power locks or windows so doubt that this wire is for that purpose. 2000 Silverado reg cab
