I havn't had the codes checked yet but just wondering if there might be any suggestions as to what the probable cause of this cold skipping condition would be. When the car is cold it skips it can run for App. 15 minutes then it runs like a sewing machine. It only has 225,000 miles on it and I'd like to see it make 300,000. It has had plugs, wires, distributor, and a intake gasket in the last 10,000 miles. Thanks for any suggestions. :banghead:

Hey buddy,

Yea, i also had all that replaced on my 94 altima, and it will STILL backfire or skip when i'm cold... Honestly i think its just the age of the car, you know? I only have 135,000 miles, i cant believe you have over 200,000!! But in any case, its probably just age, and the best thing to do (which is what i always do) is let the car fully warm up before driving it off. If you want, have the fuel injection system cleaned out, may help, also make sure you just do routine maintenance, like having the sludge removed from around your valves, if you have the money, have your engine block polished, etc. Make sure the proper spark plug type and gap was used, check to make sure they're not fouled up.
