abs vs. non abs axles

I own a 1990 jdm crx Sir and my joints are clicking so its time for some new axles. i know i need 90-93 integra axles with intermidiate shaft, but my car has abs. #1. do i need abs axles for will non abs work? #2. did the 90-93 integra come with abs? thanks.

if your car does have abs axles then yeah i would use abs axles.

Does your car actually use ABS? If so, you have to have the ABS axles in order for it to work. If it doesn't use ABS, then non ABS axles will work. If you just want the abs not to work you can use non ABS, but I'm sure you will get the ABS light on.

The ABS axles have teeth on them that a sensor on the spindle reads off of to determine the speed of it. Therefore the non ABS axles won't have it.

The 90 Sir had ABS? I don't think it did. Honestly, it doesn't really matter what axles you use. If your car doesn't have ABS, and you find a set of ABS axles, you can still use them. Just remove the ABS rings with a flathead and hammer.

thanks for the help guys. i actually found out that the abs axles are cheeper than the non abs. so if anyone needs them just do what bam bam said and knock the rings off.

Wow, that's pretty advanced for it's time.

it is advanced, but honestly i wish i didnt have it. you can see how cluttered it makes the engine bay. it took me 1/2 hour to tighten my alt. belt yesterday. And i can just imagine the problems im going to have when its time to change the break pads.

Alternator bolts are a pain in the ass anyway, I can imagine having the ABS crap in the way.

As for your brake pads, they are just going to be like non ABS. Pop one bolt off the caliper, fold it up, remove pads, compress piston, install new pads. There is nothing different there between ABS and non ABS.
