this is what I found today when I changed my OIL, it was on the filler cap and on the filler extension, I didnt notice anything differnt about the oil itself, this is the first time I noticied this problem.. WHAT COULD IT BE

It's cold-weather time which means condensation in the engine overnight. If you're just using your car to drive to the store and back, without letting it get to operating temperature for a while, this will happen.

As long as you're sure there's no cooling system leaks causing water to enter the engine, it's nothing to worry about so long as you drive the car more than a mile or so each time you use it.

there shouldnt be any coolant leaks, except for the bottom of water pump, I just had new head gaskets installed this summer , new valve gaskets, and all the shabang that goes along with that, The car got driven from home to wifes work 3 times this week, less than 5 minutes away, so that might be the problem

thanks for the fast reply

No doubt that's a problem. Either change your oil every two weeks, or get the engine up to full temperature for 15-20 minutes periodically to drive the moisture out of the crankcase. The acids formed by the water vapor and combustion gasses could be tearing up bearings, piston skirts, gaskets, and other soft metals in the engine. PAO synthetics help to reduce this to some extent, but short trips will kill anything eventually.

That hypothetical "perfect condition" vehicle only "driven by a grandma to church on Sundays" is one I certainly don't want - At least not for the powertrain condition.

And while the oil condition may be a problem, you apparently have more immediate concerns to worry you. That little green thing hanging out near the sink ready to take a bite out of anything that gets near it might cause more trouble than the dirty oil.

Without a doubt, the absolute hardest way to put miles on a car.

don't i know it.
thats exactly what i got, and now everything is falling apart.

p.s. mine was driven by GRANDPA twice a week. to church and to the pharmacy (for pills).
both trips less than 10 miles.

well today I took her out for a bath, A nice 46 degrees today and cruised around for a while, but noticied a slight hesitation or stumble, don't know if this is because of the oil, or weather change. BUT THIS SPRING WILL BE A NEW WATER PUMP AND A COMPLETE TUNE UP, TO INCLUDE OPTI AND FUEL AND OIL PUMPS. TRANMISSION FLUSH AND REAR DIFF.
