Key won't turn in ignition

Hi All,
My problem today is that I can put the key in the ignition but the key will not turn. I've read posts about stuck keys but they do not address the problem I am having. My car is in park and I have tried moving the steering wheel and shift lever. Cold weather may be an issue. Do I need to replace ignition tumbler and assembly?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

right side of shift there is a plastic cover on the shift bezel remove it
look inside of there with a flashlight there is a micro switch with a little metal arm on it over time the arm looses tension it needs to be bent so that when the shifter is in park the switch is closed I usually use two small flat scredrivers to get it into place one to hold it one to bend it
