Sounds like a fixer upper if you have the time and money.....The smoking part could mean an easy fix or it could mean another engine....
The part about the title would worry me.....VIN could be run....and in doing so it would be possible that ther was a lien against the vehicle.....
Brakeline would be an easy fix......I don't think you missed anything keep looking....Personally I won't buy sometning I can't physically and visually check out.....
