Help please, my wife had her civic mirror knocked off and seperated into 2 pieces by a child bicycling, anyways I'm trying to glue (commercial) the part together and need to know how to take off the mirror.
Also there are 4 wires, any ideas which terminals they connect to would be appreciated.
many thanks, Kit.

Behind the triangle sail panel cover are 3 nuts on 3 studs.
I will research the wire colors, maybe you can just match colors.

Thank you for your help.
I may have to remove the door panel, that's the scary part for me. If you know the colors for them that would be great, otherwise I will have to check the other side (argh-another panel to remove).

You shouldnt need to take your door off to work with this mirror. Also what color combinations are your wires blue black/green white/blue black?

The bolt closest to the dash is low, into the door panel so that one is a bit tricky, been working with needle nose pliers to get that one out.
Wire combo (drivers side)
From Car: Green/Yellow, Blue, Blue/White, Red, Black
From Mirror: Grey, Yellow, Green, Blue, Blue
Your help is truly appreciated.

Does not match too well what info I have for 01-05 Civic. I have 3 wires shown... Blue/Blk = 7, Grn/Wht = 8, Blue/White = 6 for the drivers side.

Alright this is all I could come up with from my friends over at 7thgen
As per the Service Manual the wires from the mirror into a 8P connector as follows (with 1 top left to the right and 8 bottom right):
1, 2, and 5 unused
3 and 4 Light Blue for the heater
6 Light Green
7 Yellow
8 Grey
It looks like 6 is left/right adjustment, 8 is up/down adjustment, and 7 is ground or power for both.
The Manual says "Record the terminal locations and wire colors" so it doesn't say where or what the wires from the car are.
And FYI, passenger side is as follows:
3 and 4 Light Blue
6 Orange
7 Pink
8 Brown
Well actually there is a wire diagram for the wires from the car:
Orange Power for defogger and Black ground
Blue/Black to mirror controls
Green/White from Up/Down
Blue/White from Left/Right
For Passenger side:
Orange Power for defogger and Black ground
Red/Yellow to mirror controls
Green/White from Up/Down
White/Red from Left/Right

Thank you and 7 Gen for your continued help.
I'll spend one more day tapping wires amongst each other and hopefully figure out the possible 10,000 combinations. If successful, I am definately sending my results here in the event someone else has a need for the solution.
Wife's been telling me to give up and spend $ to replace it!

Actually it might be simpler to listen to your wife and replace the mirror. As mentioned by the others you do not need to take off the door panel to replace the mirror. See the following image.
http://www.slhondaparts.com/images/PCI/14S5A4/014/3.jpg
Remove the inside cover by simply popping it open, unscrew 3 nuts. Be careful not to drop the nuts. Otherwise you would have to open the door panel to fish that out. The assembly slides out. Unclip the wiring connector and replace with new. The new assembly even comes with new gasket I believe.
The whole thing costs about US$150 if you buy it from the dealer. Depending on the color of your mirror, it might actually be cheaper. But I think it is better to have solid mirror assembly than the ones that are glued. You never know if it would fall of on the freeway and hit some other car.:naughty:

Thank you for the diagram, much appreciated.
Out here in Canada it seems that the dealerships have set a price of $400 CDN (taxes, painted, and installed).
I'll check out a US Honda (im close to the border) maybe it will save me a couple hundred, thanks.

The price that I quoted is just the part only cost. OEM Honda mirrors actually come painted to match your factory body paint.
Similar thing happened to me where some drunkard surgically broke off my mirror with his big arse truck. My original mirrors were non painted version, so I worked out a deal with the guy where he bought me 2 painted mirrors. I installed both mirrors within 30 minutes. So if you buy the part, you shouldn't have to pay that $400 CDN. Good luck.
