Your transmission won't have a drain plug on it, so you will have to remove the pan and let it pour out. Take the pan off anyway so you can replace your filter, and while you have the pan off, you can add a drain plug to it.

Dude..your trans fluid is not lifetime :banghead:
Your vehicle came with an owners manual. In it is the maintenance schedule for your vehicle.
Information like this is in there
(50,000 mi)
Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter

To change the fluid here is the procedure
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the catalytic converter. (you can get around this by loosening the trans mount and jacking the back of the trans up)
Place a drain pan under the transmission oil pan.
Remove the oil pan drain plug, if equipped.
If necessary, remove the bolts and position aside the range selector cable bracket for clearance while lowering the pan. It is not necessary to remove the cable from the lever or bracket.
Remove the oil pan bolts from the front and sides of the pan only.
Loosen the rear oil pan bolts approximately 4 turns.
Lightly tap the oil pan with a rubber mallet in order to loosen the pan to allow the fluid to drain.
Remove the remaining oil pan bolts.
Remove the oil pan and the gasket.
Grasp firmly while pulling down with a twisting motion in order to remove the filter.
Remove the filter seal. The filter seal may be stuck in the pump. If necessary, carefully use pliers or another suitable tool to remove the seal.
Discard the seal.
Inspect the fluid color.
Clean the transmission case and the oil pan gasket surfaces with solvent, and air dry. You must remove all traces of the old gasket material.
Installation Procedure
Coat the new filter seal with automatic transmission fluid.
Install the new filter seal into the transmission case. Tap the seal into place using a suitable size socket.
Install the new filter into the case.
Install the oil pan and a new gasket.
Tighten the oil pan to transmission case bolts alternately and evenly to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
If previously removed, install the range selector cable bracket and bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Install the catalytic converter.
Lower the vehicle.
Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® III transmission fluid.
Check the COLD fluid level reading for initial fill only.
Inspect the oil pan gasket for leaks.

I'm with Merlin. The Owner's Manual clearly states either a 15,000 or 50,000 miles transmission oil change depending upon your type of driving. I'm very curious about where you heard/read/saw that transmission oil is a "lifetime" service interval.

Be safe, and split the difference at 30,000. If you want it to be easier next time, install a drain plug this time.

If your Owner's Manual is damaged, log in and download a new one:

A big or bigger drain pan works best for catching the fluid.
I use the end of a 55 gal drum for a catch pan.:grinyes:
Your transmission may have a drain plug and a reusable pan gasket.
If it has the thick hard rubber molded gasket reuse it.
Good for 3-4 or more changes.
And a lot better than that cheap gasket that comes with a after market filter kit.
