Cocky Volvo Driver

During the summer, I was getting coffee at the coffee shop where my girlfriend works, and there's this goof kid who looks alot like Napolean Dynamite. He said he got a turbo volvo, and he said it was so fast, and he bet he could beat me and my 5th gen prelude. So I told him to pop the hood, and sure enough, there was the cute little turbo, but that's not the point. His engine looked like an old antique that was kept up in a grandpa's attic and took it out when the kids wanted to play with it. Dirt, grime, dust, you name it, it was on the motor. I looked up the specs on his car. At most, he as 170 hp, that was probably when the car was brand new. We never raced, but I thought it was kinda funny that he said he could beat me, or at least keep up with me. Later dudes!

Don't be cocky. Judging by the 170hp comment I assume your referring to a 740 turbo, and 740 turbos can be made very fast for not a whole lot of money.

Probably had the original oil in it. Tell him that the engine will make 300HP at 9,000 rpm's. Watch him sit there and hang on the rev limiter.

I wasn't being cocky, the other guy was. I just never thought of volvos as fast cars. I always heard they were pretty heavy, safe though. :P I have no mods on my lude. Sad story, I would like to do some stuff to it. Right now I would like to get a new respitory system for it. I/H/E. I'm still looking for a good header, but I found the intake and exhaust that I like. I'm not sure if there are any header brands that are better than others. I'm thinking an AEM short ram, and a Greddy EVO 2 exhaust. I read somewhere that preludes don't respond well to bolt-ons. Not sure if that's true or not. But yeah, nothing crazy yet, just 190 hp, 7k redline, and VTEC. Until then, Prelude love!
