I'm back

Its been awhile, I dont know if you guys remember me but posted a few videos of my storm awhile back. I wrecked it and then bought a Jeep Cherokee. Now, the Jeep is pretty much toasted and last night I bought a 2000 vw beetle. It has the 1.8L 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. Hopefully soon, i'll get some videos up of that.

Short kill story... beat a 3rd gen camaro on the highway last night. It was probablly stock or close to it. The guy was tailgating me and he went to pass me, I went to 4th gear(mistake). He pulled ahead about a car, and once my rpms started to build I pulled about 2 car lengths before we started to come up on a sweeper.

It feels... alright. It definently needs a few mods before I bring it out in the spring.

What have you done to the 944? I used to have an '86 844. They can be wicked from a roll.

It had to have been a 6 banger.

I just find it odd, that you'd willingly buy that car. :lol:

I didn't find it appealing at first, but the turbo and the 5 speed drew me in, and i'm actually starting to like the looks. Its a chick car for sure, but I guess thats part of the appeal to me. I'm hoping that once I have a few mods people will still under rate it.

You didn't say it was a 1.8T...

I thought you meant the NA 1.8. I actually don't dislike the beetle myself. Nice to see something other than a golf or jetta when it comes to VW.

I would of gone for the Audi myself... but a Beetle is different... so I can't be too harsh.

atleast the beatle is light isnt it? thats always a plus. good luck with it, and increase that boost.

you've gotta do something about that gearing that is on the bettle if you want to make it move realatively nice. It has very different gearing than the jetta and GTI 1.8t if you ever match up to one from 2000 you'll see what I mean, they will easily out run it, but that doesnt mean the beetle cant move, so good luck!

All jokes aside though that will be a great sleeper. Anyone see the HPA(I think?) Beetle in SCC USCC? AWD and like 500hp.... freaking crazy. It would have won had it not thrown (literally) a Drive shaft.

Koni Yellow shocks, air box delete with cone filter, and now im in the process of adding a venturi delete kit and adding a Blitz EBC because my cycling valve broke. So basically no “BIG” power gains yet just upgrading crap that’s already broke. Hopefully I can chip it this spring and then go EVO hunting:evillol:

the problem is there seems to be no power to the gears in the beetle, I was able to take out a turbo beetle in my old celica and that was a bit sad. but none the less, it is still a 1.8t and there is alot the can be done with it.

If you went to HPA you could go hunting for alot more then just 951s. My car only runs mid to low 14s stock. So with a few mods you could probably hang/beat one. Watch out on the highway though, as they are beasts from rolls around 60+

Theres a guy in my area that has a black one, hes done some work to it cause every time he shows up to the gatherings everyone wants to stay away from him. supposedly its putting down 280 at the wheels. he has a big ass sticker on his rear window that reads "WHOS YOUR DADDY!" :lol:
