A simple jack question

hey all,

After using this forum for over a year now, it's making me rethink many procedures..including something simple.

When supporting our trucks in jack stands, where do the most of you safely put the jack stands for the front and rear end?

I've always used frame sections and the rear axle, but I was reading a post the other day and noticed someone mentioning an area that sounded unusual. Any new knowledge is good and we can never not learn new tricks, plus the curiosity is a big part of it.

I always jack my truck up by:

Front End: I place my jack between the two studs on the frame that holds the Tranny Support beam; and place my jacks right in front of the jack. I do this because It just fits nicely! I guess the benefits would be that the jack wont slip. But I never thought of it; it just fist nicely =D

Rear End: Stick it on the Diff Housing jack up. Slide jack stand at about the half way point on the Rear Axial. I figure if that thing is stronger than the frame; why not?

I have done mine the same way as Tall for many, many years (17 to be exact) with no issues.
