This is my entry for the VWvortex forum mk2 golf challenge. i started on the shell, here is my progress
did the side sills like the 90 spec and as my 1:1, shaved abit on the inside of the wheel arches just for abit more wheel clearance, so i can lower it abit more (i love big wheels) i also removed the excess at the water bottle in the engine bay and i cut out the sunroof. your thoughts and crits is more than welcome.

I may just join in on the challenge, that is the only forum I can stand on their site anymore. My name there is BigFirth, and used to be quite active over there, but it has started to lean towards dicast rather than plastic.

I think I might do a stripped and caged shell with Porsche CGT seats and 360 CS wheels, curbside, because that engine reaaaaalllllly sucks in that kit.

Looks very good so far :bigthumb:
And the engine, for a first try, is not that bad :)

Where does the seat come from? They fit perfectly the MKII.

Maybe drilling small pilot holes you can get them to seat right, and maybe using a superglue will lock them in so you dont have to worry about them breaking free during the drying process.

Hmmmmmmm, i drilled the pilot holes already, but im scared the super glue will craze the paint around the holes. what glue do i use to hold the leads onto the valve cover?

thanx Cheif xB

Im just tossing ideas out there, but the wires seem wide enough that if you glued them together side by side you can get enough surface area that a spot of glue should do it. Just cut them to size before you glue them into the sparkplug holes. Work from the alternator toward the final point of attachment. Im not sure that made sence.:uhoh:

i wouldnt say clean dude. far from it. trying to finish this thing in time for the deadline, been rushing along and stuffing up more than you can imagine.

im going to enter the next build off, it looks like its going to be a MK1 golf. will i see you there? i hope you are, was kinda cool having you here.

Not sure on if Im in the next one...mk1 is so close to the mk2. I was hoping for something a little more different. We will endup seeing similar builds again. I would have been happier with at least aircooled. Plus from the sound of it...there will be like 5 months of build time. I know Ill forget the deadline or lose intrest. Plus it dips into my summer.
