What do you guys think about a aftermarket intake manifold and mustang 5.0 throttle body upgrade? I've been looking and reading on these upgrades and I haven't seen much on them. Do you think I can get a good amount of power out of these upgrades?

you haven't seen much on them b/c not many, if any, people do them for the normally aspirated 3S. no, you won't get a good amount of power from these upgrades ALONE. if you're looking for real power at a decent price, then forced induction is simple. however, if you're looking for all engine power, then look to improve the airflow, exhaust, and lighten the rotating mass on the engine.

yes, airflow includes the throttle body and intake manifold, but that's not the limiting factor for our cars. heads and cams will do more, but still not much compared to forced induction. headers would be nice, but they're quite pricey at around 700 a pair.

the most help i can be is to point you to the "NA Upgrade Bible" linked in the FAQ.

I have 15g turbos, and a sneaky petes nitrous system. So my forced induction is taken care of. I'm going to do my heads this spring, I just wanted to put out a little more power. Theres nothing else I can really do to put out more power, unless I upgrade my turbos again, but I wanted to stay with the stock turbo manifolds. If you have any suggestions to help me, I will appreciate it. Oh yeah, I have a VR4, I'm sorry for not mentioning that in my first post.

There is always more to do to increase power, but without a full list of what you got, we can't help much. I seriously doubt your manifold is a limiting factor yet, and aftermarket ones sure aren't cheap. So I would spend hte money on something else.

Have you upgraded intercooler(s)?
Downpipe?
Lightweight driveshaft?
An alcohol or meth injection kit so you can run more boost on pump gas?

ahh yes, ur the guy with the 15gs and an already nice setup. i keep forgetting. perhaps you could put all that information in a signature? (at top of page below 'automotive forums' click the link 'User CP', then on left click 'edit signature.').

for more power you can upgrade airflow and fuel.

with the 15gs, i assume you're not running stock injector. what are you running? i know a lot of guys running 550s with their 15gs. also a hotwired fuel pump is recommended.

as for airflow, if you're already planning on doing your heads, then the next best thing would be cams. you could also benefit from an aftermarket downpipe (3sx.com has some nice ones) if you still have the stock downpipe.

do you plan on just taking your heads to a local shop and have them ported & polished? i would recommend Dynamic Racing (http://www.dynamicracing.com) for some nice heads.

as for cams, many shops have those (3sx, dynamic racing, ips motorsports), but i would call and talk to them to get the best cam for you. i assume you want to keep your car streetable, therefore you don't want too much valve overlap from the cam lobe profile b/c this will almost eliminate your vacuum and braking won't be fun.

if you do get cams, first i would get a datalogger to monitor knock, then an AFC so you can tune.

I already have all of that stuff, accept the alcohol injection, cams, headwork, and light weight driveshaft. Those are future upgrades, I have in mind. I was looking into the dr heads, but I have somone who will do mine for about $650 at Headgames. They're a reliable shop that I send all of my cars to. I am probably going to get my cams from dr though. I have 720cc injectors, I know that they're a little overkill but I got them for $300 from a friend. Do you have anymore suggestions, because I'm going on a shopping spree for my car. And finish by spring time.

DR Stage 3 heads FTW.

Also, TDO5 isn't such a bad idea.

Td05 would be a great upgrade, I actually almost purchased a set of 16g's. The only reason why I didn't is because i wanted to keep the stock turbo manifolds, and I wanted to look stock. If you look under my hood you wouldn't know that I have so much done to my car. Everything is painted black. I also have my fmic and piping black. The only things that are not painted are my turbos. My nitrous system is ran to my intercooler, so you don't see any lines.
