New Rotor Break In??

Oh gurus of the Zu. I am wondering, I just did a brake job on the 98 Rodeo, new pads(I replaced the clips as well), rotors, and wheel bearings. I am just hearing this almost grinding noise when I apply the brakes, no vibration, just noise, actually much improvement from the old warped ones. So I yanked the wheels off again pulled the calipers, checked the pads for fit in the brakets and the area of contact against the rotors, all looks good. I checked all clearances around the rotor, nothing else is rubbing. I spun the wheel by hand and can't really hear anything.

I am thinking it is just the new pads on the new rotors breaking in, there are the cutting tool marks still on the rotor that haven't even worn yet. Right now I am just planning to ride it out for a bit and see if it goes away after they are boken in. Any opinions or previous exepierences would be helpful.

There should not be any grinding. The pads/rotors will have a small break in period so they will seat together properly for full braking power but should not make any noise while doing it.

when i got new pads and rotors for about a month or 2 after i would hear a slightly squeek sound, but the sounds is now gone, and that was a huge improvement over the terrible squeek of the old worn out pads.

I seem to remeber noticing that one of them didn't quite look right, I am going to check them in the morning. I'll let you know. Thanks
