xbox 360 live?

can you use dsl, or is it too slow for live? i have cable, and im getting mine soon, but my friend who id play live with has dsl. just wondering if anyone has experience. also, i heard the wireless adapter is slow also, and someone had problems with that too.

I have medium speed DSL and it works just fine. I hardly ever have lag problems. Most lag problems I do have, it happens to everybody else and 99% of the time it's not me.

i heard the wireless adapter is slow also, and someone had problems with that too.

I have one and it doesn't affect things at all. The only problem I have is it wants to boot me off if I play for several hours with no break. I can get almost 10 games in though before it boots me off the same time. I think though it's with the wireless adapter connected to my computer and not the x-box one.

So you know I've played games that have 10 people and there wasn't any lagging, pausing, skipping or anything. The gameplay was smooth and stayed that way the entire game. I've played several like that.

thanks, i ordered mine today! i never played any online stuff yet, my roomate wanted it real bad cause me plays online games like asherons call and loves it. he played that shit for like 6 months actual gameplay!

dsl is fine. you need faster than 256k though. xbox live is a blast.

xbox 360 is fun. gow is great online,as is a numer of other games. the wireless adapter is actually pretty sweet. i dont get any lag. i have it currently synced with my home network through zune and i stream all the music, video, and pics from the computer to the 360. lets just say unlimited memory for mp3.s

I love how the cable company commercials make it seem like DSL is sooo slow.

I've had both dsl and cable in several different houses/apts and they both work fine for online games.

Cable has the upper hand for pure download speed and multi-user bandwidth.

my friend had dsl when they played xbox live. then they switched to cable. they have never been happier. i think it just matters what you have available in your area.

slowsky's commercials are the shit! ya, i had dsl, but it disconnected all the time. i think its the old wiring in the house..... i should get my live today, i ordered it on amazon and saved 10 bucks for a year!

you could have ordered it thru the xbox. Unless you wanted complete live package.

I have DSL, i'd say its the medium package my provider offers, never had a bit of lag on live at all.

i think it was their house or something, since when they got cable, the guy had to route all new cable wire through it. who knows, i guess it depends on your provider and other things.

yeah, i could of ordered it through the xbow, but i got it for 46 instead of 56. not much savings, but i had to order a 50ft ethernet cable(17.95) instead of $40 at staples, so 33 dollars was kinda worth a few day wait. still didnt get it tho!
