LS/VTEC Turbo

I am beggining to rebuld my old project. It has been sitting there for almost 2 years collecting dust. Thanks to a very nice local machine shop my pistons are rocking inside the cylinders. In other words he over bored it. Now my ls/vtec is, once again, in pieces. Now that I need bigger pistons I decided to go turbo.

My setup fully rebuilt:
94 B18C1 head
3 angle valve job
mild shave
stock cams
MSD ignition

94 B18B1 block
bored to who knows what size, I have not measured the bore yet
B18B1 stock crank
B18B1 Eagle H beam rods with ARP bolts
81.5mm SRP Forged pistons
11.7:1 CR, 11.5:1+.2 because of B18C1 head.
B18C5 oil pump

I might of missed something but everything else is new, like valve guides and seals, JE rings, OEM bearings and seals.

My question is, how much can I bore my cylinders? I was supposed to have them .020 over but want to go as big as .080 but Im not sure if that is gonna be safe with 12-14 PSI.

My other question is what is the best turbo size for this application. I want minimal turbo lag, but I want to be able to boost up to 20 PSI. That does not mean that I will but thats what I am shooting at.

As far as tuning and and fuel management goes, I am not worrying about that right now. My plan is to get Hondata S300, 550CC injectors (maybe bigger), HKS turbo timer and HKS boost controller. I have a local shop that will dyno the car.

Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. If you know anyone with parts that I might be able to use let me know.

The largest you can run on the stock sleeve is 81.5mm.

When you're picking your turbo, DO NOT specify a pressure rating as it doesn't signify anything. You need a power goal, budget and spool rpm (more or less as a reference).

RC550s should be good, but if you're looking for more than 400whp (which is a big commitment on a stock sleeve setup unless you're going all out), then you may want either 720s or 880s. Also, Hondata S300 is good, but you could go with Crome Pro or an older Hondata like the S200.

Also the HKS turbo timer and HKS boost controller...i can guess without knowing anything about the product that it is expensive...there are probably better options out there. I have a boosted GSR right now and i'll tell you right now, you dont NEED a turbo timer, but it would be a nice addition....my suggestion is an autostart/keyless entry that has a turbo timer. You may spend a little more, but then you have a lot more options

also, i have a shit ton of parts available.....it just depends on your budget. If you have the cash, i have a complete setup with a new topmount, new turbo and new DP for you. It is the setup listed in my sig...i would only be getting rid of it so that Corey can build me a T4 topmount instead.....my new setup has about 40 miles on it because the alternator went out and now its in storage for the winter

My goal is to break into 13 second 1/4 mile. Im guessing 250-300 hp is a range to be in for that time. Im not looking to peak hp out of stock sleeves. I have seen a guy here in my area with a fully built motor making around 550 to the wheels. He could not catch traction for shit untill 4th gear. I think that is some what ridiculous for a FWD car. If you cant put the power down, what is the point of having it? Thats just the way i see it.

how much are you asking for your setup?

Im not in no big of a hurry. Im trying to do all research because this is the last time I am taking the engine apart. If something happens to it, its gone. I was planning to piece the kit together and maybe fabricate some stuff if I need to.

What other parts do you have? do you happen to have oversized turbo pisons?

I found a T3 REV HARD cast manifold that allows you to keep AC. What is your opinion on the cast manifolds? I can get this one for around $150 new and shipped. Let me know what you think.

I have an Eclipse turbo lying around, I might use that for the 1st month or whatever just to see if everything is ok and see how it feels, then throw some money away on a nice turbo.

I am also looking for a clean Integra shell. Preferebly with a leather interior.

An eclipse turbo (14b) and a RevHard log manifold are not going to get you into the power levels you're going to want. My last setup would have done fine for you. I had a SPoolin log and a Garrett T3/T04E 60trim .63ar. On that setup i made 275whp on 9psi. That would have easily gotten you into the 12's with slicks. My new setup is a little wilder and after i'm done rebuilding, i plan to make upper 300's or low 400's on pump gas. I would be willing to sell the whole setup (which is a bolt on to another DC) but its going to be spendy. With everything you need, it would be around $3500, but that's for EVERYTHING.

I can help you out if you want to build your own setup...i've done it a few times now, and it gets easier every time...

See the thing about buying "pre-assembled" things the price is always higher. At one point I bought a 95 GS-R for $2k. B18C1 swaps sell for more. I do a lot of work myself, so there is no real point of buying the whole deal.. then I wont have anything to do in my spare time.

Here are some pics of the Integra.

Why are these forums so dead?

the forums are dead because a while back, the moderators were kinda being dicks to people and then a bunch of us left....there was a big deal made about everything and then the forum died....i just recently decided to come back actually.

Build it yourself...i agree, but if you want/need help, i'll do what i can

Thanks for your help. If I need anything I will definitely let you know. I mean it is going to be hard to get more then advice since you are in ND and I am in CA.

My other question is about cams. Should I look into upgrading or just leave the B18C1 cams?

And I don't really want to spend my money on springs. The reason behind that is at one point I blew a motor due to an accidental over rev, RPM's were at about 9-10k. I had 4 bent exhaust valves. My theory is that the only reason that happened is because the exhaust side has single springs and intake has dual. My plan is to get some inner springs and stick them on the exhaust side and maybe get titanium retainers. I am not really planning on taking it past 8500-8800 RPMs.
