Was having a miss that got real bad this morning. Mechanic scannedand got 2 codes.
321 and 361
We were having trouble tracking those codes down. Replaced 2 coil packs the miss semmed to go away but the codes are still there even after he cleared them.
Any ideas on where to find more info on these codes?
Thanks
Jack

No such codes that I can find you need to do the the scan again or try another scanner.

It seems that both codes has to do with the ESC or EST. I unplugged the Camshaft position sensor, drove the car and it seemed a bit better but I was still getting a bit of a miss. I was doing some further reading and possible the knock sensor is either not working or sending bas info to the ECM. The book says if it is not working, the car will be sluggish. That is definately one of the symptoms. he mechanic is going to re-scan the car tommorrow. I am going to see if I can stop at an Autozone on the way in and get it scanned there. Where is the Ignition control module and the Electric Spark Control module located on this ehicle? The haynes manual shows one location but it is not there on this '94.
Anyway, thanks for the help and any ideas

Went to autozone this morning to get a scan....got the run around. Then was told that they cant scan OBD1 in California. So I asked them to check the ICM, the store mangager says that they dont do that. I then walked him to the sign in the front window that says they do check the ICM. Duh
They told me that they couldnt find the book on how to scan the ICM. THey also said I would have to bring in the ICM, not sure if that is true or not.
I brought the car back to the shop today to continue the diagnosis. He is going to run the scanner again and I will post the results.
Thanks,
Jack

I took the car to another mechanic (friend of wife) and had him scan the car. Came up with
321 Spark Reference
361 Ignition Control Circuit
He said that leads him to believe that the Ignition Control Module is bad...
Any thoughts

We replaced the ICM and the Crank Position Sensor and the SES light came on and it ran like crap. It is as if there is a limiter holding the rpm to 2000-2200 and then the tranny shifts and the rpms go up. Mechanic wants to swap out the ECM. This thing is starting to cost a fortune.
Any Thoughts

Problem turned out to be ECM. Took the ICM out and sent it back, now just waiting on the bill.
