It went dead on me. For a while I could just tap the top of the dash and the lights would come back on, but now its totally dead. Just the central portion that has the speedo and signal lights.
I had it in to a mechanic who couldnt find anything visibly wrong with the cluster. No dead bulbs or loose wires or anything.
I am facing about $680 from GM to get a new one, or about $500 to rebuild the current one. Ouch.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?

Go to ebay. type in the key words you are looking for "s-10 digital dash":
http://search.ebay.com/s-10-digital-dash_W0QQfromZR40QQsatitleZsQ2d10Q20digitalQ20dash
"blazer digital dash"
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=blazer+digital+dash
You might want to do the motherboard exchange. You might be able to keep you milage that way.

Thanks everybody. Its a manual transmission, so it looks like thats a bit more rare and I may have to go with the reconditioned circuit board only.
Does anyone have any experience with re-conned dash circuit boards off eBay? Any pitfalls or anything?
Thanks everybody for you help.
