With 130,000 km on the 1993 Ranger 2wd, I intend toi change the gear oil.
Questions:
1. is a gasket available, or do you ise form in place compound? If so, which one works best?
1. any best practises for cleaning the gears& housing?
3.
Advise on the best fuild viscosity & brand ?
thanks
Reg

Head on down to your parts place and they can fix you right up.
Some use silicone sealer and some use gaskets but with sealer it has to be real clean.
80/90 gear grease for rear rear end and if traction-lok add friction modifier or use tract-lok grease..

Suggest you do a real good inspection of the gears. At 130K, there has to be some wear and tear. Also check the old diff oil for any metalic debris.
