I have a 1996 pontiac grandprix my engine has started to run rough. I scanned it for codes and the ecm told me that i had a misfire in cylinder #6. I want to check to see if the coil is bad. How do i do that ?? I know i will need to ohm it out but were do i take the reading from ? and what number am i supposed to be at when i do ohm it out. i just want to be sure before i look at the injector

A bad coil may be mistaken for a good one using an ohm meter. Often, a coil will ohm out good on both primary and secondary sides, but still fail under load. The best way to diagnose a coil is to either swap it with another one on the ignition module and see if the misfire moves OR go pick one up at an auto parts store for about $25 bucks. Usually if one cylinder is misfiring because of a bad coil, the companion cylinder firing off that coil will misfire also. That's not alway's the case, though.
