So I was job searching on snagajob.com, and it mentioned some positions as I guess is just a person who sits at home and sells shit off of ebay. I'm thinking scam city immediately, but I think about it, maybe its possible? I'm just completely lost on how someone makes a living off of it ya know? If its not all bullshit I'd love to give it a try, not looking to make a fortune, but enough to finance a 350z I'm looking at. Does anybody here have any experience with this, or know anybody that does?

Seriousy, I saw a prime time TV report a couple years ago where a family was making a shit-load of money off of eaby. They owned like 3 or 4 houses in a neighborhood just to store all of the shit they were selling. With the right level of commitment, ebay could pay the rent, put food on your table and 2 cars in your garage, send your kids to college while retiring early and then some. Pretty much the whole American Dream.

So to awnser your question, Yes.

^Yea man I saw that too, but its like damn, to what extent do you have to go to do that? I guess the better answer is just how exactly do you get started?

It's a lot more work than you think. You have to know the right suppliers and how to make an appealing auction page. It also involves some risk, being that it's eBay and not everyone is going to follow through and people are going to try and screw you like any other business. I'm guessing you also need a substantial amount of cash to start and gather inventory, so you can get decent prices from suppliers. Just find a reliable job man, get a decent bankroll going and if you still want to do this then atleast you will have the assets to allow you to do it.

P.S. since when is financing a 350z not a fortune for a kid just out of high school? lol

Yea I know about getting a decent job, I was just wondering how much truth there was behind the ebay thing. I had a steady job but I'm tryin to get another one because I recently move and at this time of year its tough to get a decent job. If insurance wasn't such an issue it would be very possible to have a Z, a used one ofcourse, I'm not insane, lol.

If it was easy to make a fortune by sitting on your ass and selling crap on ebay, everybody would do it no?

Its possible, but you gotta have a game plan. And it seems someone else's game plan is to recruit a bunch of people that will buy into their plan about selling crap on ebay.

There's a certain individual around these parts who made a good amount of money selling those crappo electric superchargers and tornado intakes on ebay...

and no its not me

The people who make big money on eBay were doing the same thing before the internet was even around. They know the right suppliers and wholesalers and they know how to move their merchandise. They are professionals just like anyone else with a 'real' job.

I'm sure some people do very well with Ebay, but I've always just found it best for getting a few bucks for unwanted stuff, or selling electronics for close to what I paid for them when I want to upgrade.

don't make selling stuff on ebay your primary source for income, unless you have a bunch of very popular items to sell. a friend of mine is trying to do that and she is not doing very well.
