Thanksgiving day I kept hearing loud music outside and figured it was the neighbors......walked outside, and the tunes were blasting the 1999 Yukon 4WD SLT........key was in my pocket. Put the key in the ignition and turned the truck on then off........radio keeps playing. So I pulled the fuse......put it back in later......everything fine. Next day, got back from store and unloading and looked forward and saw the radio turning it self off and on........key in my hand. Figured it was a fluke and didn't think much of it. Then this morning, I notice that the shift indicator on the column was lit up......showing that it was in park. Started truck and then turned it off and light went out. The only thing I can think of is that if there is a big temp change and some rain.........the gremlins come out. Anybody ever have this happen?

I would recommend checking both battery cables (at both ends) looking for a loose or dirty connection.

Intresting........I have had to cut away the plastic crap on the positive cable because of corrosion build up way to often. The last time I cleaned the terminals I noticed that it had ingressed into the sheathing. SO I guess a cable replacement is in order. Does anybody know why dirty or bad cables would cause this?

The Intergrated Body Control Module controls the power to the radio, wipers, and power windows. It allows them to stay on even after the ignition is turned off untill the doors are opened. I have seen a module fail allowing the radio, wipers, and windows to work only intermittently while the ignition was on. You should have that checked out.

That may very well be.......but my 1999 SLT does not have that feature to the best of my knowledge.
