2002 mountaineer 4.0 v6 RWD grinding sound from rear end

I have a problem with a grinding sound from what seems to be like the right rear side seems to start about 10 mph and quites down around 60 but can tell it is there anyone have a clue?

Does the grinding sound change if you apply the brakes lightly? Did you verify that the wheels are properly torqued?

wheels are properly torqued sometimes brakes change sometimes not always seems to do it more when accelerating and taking left turns

Your 2002 has rear independent suspension, right? Sounds like you may have a bad CV joint or possibly a bad wheel bearing. Or, if your Mountaineer has a limited slip differential, this noise could be due to the limited slip.
