I'm using a polished short ram intake right now. Same shape as the stock. I'm just wondering, if I was to get an actual cold air intake for my N/A, am I looking at any more of a gain whatsoever in HP with the filter near the grille, and how much would I have to worry about water being sucked in the engine if it was to rain or if the road was wet?

NOt really much if any gain over what you have now. Just not worth it. Been there done that. As for the water question, it did it twice. Both times water in the MAS shut the car down before it got sucked into the engine so I got lucky. Hydrolock FTMFL

The 3SX short ram or the K&N FIPK would be the best shot. Ive see a Ebay cold air intake on a 97 DOHC on the dyno. not worth the money and the butchering he went through at all!

Only difference would be how much lighter your wallet got by buying 2 intakes. An intake is an intake...end of story IMO.

Yea, I mean I got my intake off of ebay for 40 shipped. JDM I think, same exact design as the one from 3sx (I wouldn't waste the money they charge for the exact same thing from ebay). But then I was lookin at the blue stealth on the front page of 3sx. I saw the cold air and thought, wow that looks pretty nice. But if there's no sense in doing it then I'm not gonna waste the money.
