Ok so my uncle is interested in buying his neighbors 65 tempest ragtop. The car is a show car and is completely original and in execellent shape. Not sure what options it has but i know its a 6cyl. He's asking $25,000. Is this a reasonable price? Thanks.

Jersy,
Whether or not the car is "worth" that much is a matter of opinion. If it truly is a "numbers match" (all original engine, trans, rear, etc.) ragtop, it's easily in the ballpark. A similar GTO would be worth well over $50K (just for comparison). Avoid the urge to "clone" it into GTO. The VIN and Pontiac Historic Services will torpedo that in a hurry.
The 215 "straight" 6 is a spin-off of the Chevy 194/230. Good engine, and found only in Tempest, as far as I can recall. If an automatic, it will be one of the very few Pontiacs that really DID come with PowerGlide.
Cool car, nonetheless.

Thanks MrPbody for your reply. Yea so like i said from what my uncle told me the guy has had the car his whole life and kept it up the condition of the car throughout the time he has had it. And apparently hes won many best of's at car shows so it must be half decent. Yea i dont think he has any urge to clone it so thats a plus. Thanks again for your help.
