Problems restarting after bad traffic

Hey Guys,
Has anyone had problems with restarting your car after a good hour in bumper to bumper. When I drive home sometimes in really bad traffic (all start and stop for an hour +) and the thermostat goes up past half. When I get home the car seems fine. But if I turn it off and try to restart it within half an hour the car wont start at all. It will take a few tries and then it will start up. Its kinda weird. Could it be some form of vapour lock?
I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier Z24 5 Speed.
Thanks,
Lewis

I have almost the same problem, I have a '96 sunfire with the same engine as your cavalier. When you try and start it, will the fan run and the engine not move at all? I guess you can say Im as curious about this as you are.
