Yes, I believe it does. You didn't list an engine size. I don't guess it matters. A lot of chrysler vehicles regulate the charging system, that way.

I just wanted to add, on the back of the alternator, there should be three terminals coming out of a common bracket, the two wires or terminals that are parallel to each other, should be the field terminals, with the engine running, one should have B+ the other should have a dc pulse on it. The dc pulse shows the pcm is trying to regulate the voltage by switching the circuit on and off.

thanks for your answer.

I'm going to be installing two phoenixgold amps OCTANE-R 15.0:1 along with my pioneer amp, monitor, and xbox. into my neon.

I was thinking about installing a second charging system to run it. Have shadow parts kicking around, thats why i asked about the shadow. any ideas on what i could do would help.

G.m alternators come with a built in regulator?
Would i need to run a second charging system?

Mike.

Sorry, I'm not a stereo person. You could probably do a web search, and come-up with all kinds of info. There is a site. www.the12volt.com they have Q&A forums. If you don't find out anything here.

Yes, the GM alternator has an internal voltage regulator, at least the ones I fool with.

I don't know if your charging system will handle your set-up. the company you bought the equipment from, might have some advice on that.
