hlj question for canucks

has anyone in the great not-so-white north(toronto) ordered anything from hlj? just wondering how much the shipping cost was on avg/kit? the list prices on hlj are about $5-10 cheaper than in stores around here and i'm wondering if it's worth ordering. also how long is the 'mouse click- doorbell' time for an order in canada?

cheers in adv

where do you get your kits/supplies from?

if you've got a list of goodies, pacific mall in markham is a worthwhile trip. there are about four dedicated scale modelling stores and it's easy to put yourself into the poorhouse if you're impulsive heh

hiya guys.. i live in vancouver, and i just ordered a kit from HLJ the kit was regularily 1800 yen and with shipping it came to 2600 yen ... (something like 25 bucks or so) shipping was really reasonable .. and it arrived at my door exactly 4 days after i ordered it.. i was very impressed..

hey dude was the 2600 yen the final price? in other words 2600 was the final price on the web page and no other taxes duties or charges in general were applied? cause i live in CND too and i've never ordered from HLJ but i'm really considering it!!

thanks :)

You lucky bastard:finger:
I had to pay anywhere from $7-10 of duty tax everytime I went to pick up a package from HLJ at the post office. You got lucky cause it was only 1 model!

hey turbo86 i'm guessing that because there was more than one kit that they couldn't just drop it in your mailbox, that's why you had to go pick it up at the post office right? Therefore then they had to charge you 7-10$ for duty?!?! or storage?!?!? If i'm correct up to this point, my suggestion to you is that you should only put one kit on every order, and make several small orders at once rather than one big one! :)
will that solve the "duty" fee?!?!?

ehhh, that would, but what's the point, shipping will cost more and don't you love it when you shipment of 20 orders comes in, LOL:D it's duty fees, not storage. And for buying 1 item, I rather buy it locally, cause it's about the same price for me.
