Headlight Aim

Can someone please tell me how to adjust the headlight aim on my 2002 GTI 337? I hit a bump and the lights, both high and low, are aiming way too low to use them at night. I hate to bring it into the dealer for such a small thing. Also, there is no mention of it in the users manual. Thanks.

usually it's done with a couple of screws next to the headlight housings.

On a 2002 model year car, they might have been really nice about it. Look behind the headlights for little knobs that you can turn.

Great. Thanks, I found the adjustment knobs. My only problem is what height/angle do I adjust them to. I would need some sort of chart. It, of course, is not in the manual or anywhere on the net. Any clue where I can find such a chart? I hate to take it in to the dealer for such a thing.
Thanks.

Why don't you just make the decision for yourself, based on what looks right to you?

I usually use my garage door as a target, and set the lights so that the low beams are at a slight down angle, with the driver's side light pretty much straight ahead and the passenger side light pointing a little towards the outside.

Just go on a small straight street at night... turn 'em on...low beam should be light up the area in front of your car to around ~40m from your car... high beam should light from ~20m... trucks/suv would be different...
