After installing new cd player it will not come on, checked all fuses and connections, and reset unit. The previous one worked fine. I tested both acc. and power wires. The power wire has nothing but acc. does. I also tested @ the fuse block and it has power.:screwy: 1989 C1500 350
Thanks for any help.

sounds like there is a wire not connected. the power wire should have 12v at all times. i would trace back the power wire to the fuse block and check it there for power. if you have power there then it would be safe to say that you've got a broken wire.
for testing purposes, i would also run a lead right from the battery to the power wire to ensure the cd player is working. good luck

Use a multi meter to check the red/yellow wire. The red should only show 12volts when the ignition is on. The yellow should show 12volts constantly; it’s the battery wire, holds the clock time/presets. If they are both showing voltage; check your ground. Use the resistance reading on the multimeter to make sure it’s a good connection.
If all these things are true and good; the only other possible reason is for the radio to be bad.

I got it working!!! I looked at a schematic and concluded that the radio gets power from the courtesy lamps. The fuse for it was blown. Thank goodness it was an easy fix.
Thanks for the help.
