Staying Warm

OK I know the Wrangler is not the warmest vehicle on the road, especially the soft top, but there's gotta be a way to make it a little better. i have had a 97 TJ since new but it has always been a toy and I never needed to really use it in the winter except when it was snowing and I wanted to have some fun and a few winter trail rides. Now it is my daily vehicle and the ride to work on a 15 degree day kinda sux.
Anyone have any success in making it a little warmer in there?:banghead:

Mine stays very warm, even in the snow.

You might have to check the water circulation.

I agree with checking the water circulation. I had a 2.5L in North Dakota, and at -20F it would help to block some of air flow to the radiator--otherwise it would take forever to warm up properly.

Ditto, We have two Wranglers, a Yj and a TJ. They both keep us warm, but if I had to pick something out to help keep them warmer, it would be replace the soft doors with full hard doors with roll up windows. that eliminates those interstate gusts that pull at the soft door uppers.

if your thermastat is not working properly, it will never warm up. I had a 180 summer stat in mine, great in the summer with the a/c but had to change to a 195 for the winter. I wasn't getting much heat at all, also , if the heater core is plugged up you won't get any heat there either.

Our Wranglers have always been plenty warm, even in negative (*F) temps.

You might try taking the heater hoses off of the heater core, and holding a hose up to the core. Run it both ways, and I'd bet you'll get some crud to come out of there.
