Coil on plug setup

Hi,
apparently the last step in my complete setup is a coil on plug system and new aftermarket fuel filter kit.

I was wondering what exactly are the benefits of a Coil on Plug setup...
I have a slight understand of what it is and does, but I would appreciate a full understanding.

Thanks,
Ben

It just puts an individual coil on each plug so that you don't lose any sparking power like a normal coil setup. It will also benefit to go with an msd ho box as well if you do the coil on plugs. This is something I will be doing in the near future if I don't do it while my motor is apart now.

If your turning 10,000 rpm and running 45 +psi it would be a good idea, but, only if you set it up for sequetial fire instead of wastefire. This allows you to double your dwell so your coils have a suffiecient time to recharge between firings. Of course, going to a CD ignition would accomplish the same end result in most cases and is somewhat cheaper, with the added purks of features most boxes have (studder, theft deterent, ignition retard).
