ok i havent posted in a while because i have been busy with work and school. now that schools finished i finally have some time to work on my car. first thing i need to change are my valve lifters or lash adjusters. i took it to a shop when i started hearing a really bad ticking noise, and they told me it was the lifters. after researching i founf that it was better to get lifters with a bigger hole about 3mm. i found some on ebay for about $79. are these good? another thing is that i'm leaking oil from either the head or one of the cams. when i look closer it doesnt seem like it has a gasket at all. can you tell from just looking at the side of the engine. my question is if the one i can buy at autozone is good enough because i have a 14b? the last thing is that my temp gauge is reading higher at about 3/4 most of the time, i think its because the gasket is worn out or not there and its mixing with the coolant or its just the thermostat that needs to be replaced. i want to buy all of these parts at once so that i could do it in one project. i read from vfaq on how to remove the lifters. is this a project i should do or send it to a shop? i have about 2 other friends that could help me and my father who is a mechanic. any other information or parts that i should look into?

I would replace the thermostat and cap just to ensure thats not an issue with your heating/cooling... As for the gasket being replaced by the cams, you can do that yourself along with the lifters... I really don't think its so complicated that it would need to be taken to a shop to do those little things.

ok some other questions are popping up. i found that i need to replace the turbo outlet gasket, but its hard to find one. i could only find it at v motorsports for $4. should i change the inlet gasket as well? also i'm leaking oil from my oil cap. i have already replaced it and still it leaks oil. i heard that if i buy another gasket and put it with the old one on the oil cap it will seal it better. is this true and where can i find this gasket? since i'm takinf off the head would it be good to change the intake and exhaust gaskets?

Might as well do the other turbo gasket while its off and yes, you should do the intake/exhaust gaskets that is unless you dont take off the manifolds. I personally would just do them anyway.
