I was trying to help an associate of mines save some money. He has a 97 Caravan (49 psi fuel pressure) that needs a fuel pump. I did some research and found that the earlier models 91-95 had a psi rating of 48 psi and the 90 model was 46-50 psi from the autozone website. Will a 1 psi difference in fuel pressure make a big difference. I wanted to use the fuel pump out of the 90 or 91 model to save him some bread... That pump is only 70 bucks compared to 150 or more for his 97 caravan. Ive done it before but the pressure was the same for both vehicles.... When in doubt ask the automotive forum family.... (gearheads golden rule!!!!) Thanks Donmonique....

The 91 has a metal fuel tank, the 97 has a plastic tank.
How you going to make it fit?
The plug is different.
Why does he think fuel pump is bad?

I wasnt for sure on the plug. I was planning on taking the fuel pump and putting it in the 97 assembly. If the plug on the fuel pump match up I was just going to take the 97 plastic assembly apart and put the 90, 91 pump in. That would solve the problem for the main plug that connects outside of the tank..

Well the connections on the 97 and the 91 fuel pump are the same. But the spout comming out of the 97 fuel pump is longer than the one for the 91. In order for the 91 to work in the 97 a slight modification has to be made to the fuel pump. A small risk I didnt want to take.... Yeah, yeah Benard I should have listened......
