This one's only got custom rims from Pegasus. Could stand to be lowered a tad in front, and man...did I paint it a boring color or what?
I still like it, but wouldn't do this combination today.

I rather like the look and sound of the license tag:

Not a bad color choice. Was it a custom mix?

It looks alright, the paint isn't a problem. I think its the rims that really don't fit the car. I would've opted for some GT2 wheels or something. A different front air dam is also needed. Overall though, the car is solid. Tell me, how many cars have you built? It seems that every day I check this page you posted another one. Truly amazing. :bandit:

Looks good, 911 is the car I always wanted more than anything maybe because my first car was a 65 VW.

I agree w/your comment on the rims, I may even go back to stock. I was going for a different look, at the time there were more limited options. I don't mind the Pegasus rims, but there are better choices. As for GT2 parts, air dam...The Porsche GT3 pretty much answered those needs;)
Now, if they'd do a NEW GT-2...

Thanks, yes it is some paint brew I concocted using Testors enamels.

Thanks, I can't remember or count how many I've built. I've been taking digital shots of my best models lately, found this forum about a week ago, so it's a good place to share some of my projects w/others. I really dig seeing the models everyone else is building/has built as well. It's like a daily club meeting:cool:

Hey Bob! Wanna race?
It's funny; we both seem to be building the same kits at the same time!
Here's my take on the kit -- mine's box-stock. The silver paint is Testor Metalizer (non-buffing aluminum) with a Future floor polish clear coat.

I think both of you guys cars are beautiful. This car needs spoilers to liven it up to the next level, just snazzy paint doesn't do it IMHO.

Does any company make a 996 model with the new headlights, one of those could easily be converted to a GT2 kit.

Man, I wish. I wish Tamiya would just go ahead and do the GT2...the GT3's nice, but the GT2 is the best:cool:

Hey Matt, I built this one when it came out a few years ago. I'm just now getting pics in my album of a lot of my models. Yours looks great, did you just build it?
What's next on your workbench?

I built mine when the kit came out, too. At the time, I was living in a tiny apartment, and I didn't have any space to display finished models. Most of my completed kits went into storage boxes in the closet a few days after I finished them, where they stayed. I recently moved into a house, and I'm slowly digging my models out and photographing them. I love that all of us can use this forum to share pictures of our work -- kinda like a virtual model club meeting.
Right now I'm kind of between projects. I have an aircraft project I'm working on for FineScale Modeler, but after that, I'm wide open. I've been trying to pick something from the unbuilt pile!
How about you? What are you working on?

A couple of Subarus...
A mostly box-stock WRX STi...

Finishing this ancient project of a Legacy Outback wagon...

This one was supposed to be cast by AAM, and we know what happened w/that. This one's now a one-off, it's not going to be cast for a variety of reasons.
Are you still doing the Subaru gig?

Yep, I'm working as the editor of Drive, Subaru's quarterly magazine.
Needless to say, I have plenty of Subaru rally car kits in the to-do pile. I also have a copy of Hasegawa's 360 kit most of the way done, so I may dust that one off and finish it.

I'm detailing my 996 now and was wondering where the driver's seat belts are attached to.
