Martini Alfa 155 DTM

Been working on this for a few weeks now. I'll let the photos do the talking guys. OTB 1/24 Tamiya kit. I'll give you a full run down when it's done.

Great stuff. I was just admiring this kit the other day, one from back when Tamiya knew how to tool a kit. You're doing a bang up job and I'll look forward to seeing it progress. :)

I haven't found any interior shots so I worked from where I thought stuf would go.
The wiring is basically each connector going to another connector, the longest way possible so that it fills out the cockpit. I drilled a hole at the base of each connector and then fed the wiring through. Each wire was then detailed with yellow paint to replicate the ID label.
The Magnetti Marelli decals do come with the kit. Don't they look great! Detailing the interior was a pleasure!
The centre console was filed flat and all the detail redone using photoetch. I also sprayed all the parts graphite rather than plain black so it looked more like carbon fibre.

Yep, definitely when Tamiya were on top of the world when they produced kits like these. Can only dream when they get rid of the nasty die cast chassis and return to full engines!

Finished this one...More pics in the gallery....

Overall very impressed, great tooling from Tamiya, and no problem allowing tolerances for paint. Only the rollcage slotting into the chassis required removal of paint to allow it to sit right. Make sure you get this right as it determines the height of the body over the wheels, the side panels fit onto the rollcage and the windows then sit on top of those interior panels.
