Does anyone know a good CAI manufacturer? I was looking on the K&N site, but it doesn't list an intake for a sunfire. Any suggestions?

AEM, Injen, K&N, Weapon R, ebay craptech and Im sure cody will be along sooner or later to whore out his guys intakes so Ill let him sell you on that.
Also your better off looking for an intake for a cavalier with the same type of engine as the sunfire in question. Most places only list for cavaliers and assume people will know that a cav and a sunfire are about the same animal.

All intakes are made from T-304 Surgical grade stainless steel then hand polished to a mirror finish, unlike the aluminum ones every body else uses.

Nope. Nothing for a Cavy either.
It's just that, If I buy a new intake, i want to have a good filter too.
I read that a good CAI will give me about 7-9 HP? Is this true for a 01 Sunfire 2.2?

We have an option to buy ours with K&N filters.

What are the benifits of stainless steel rather then aluminum? Isn't the SS alot heavier?

yes but its shiny...and u need shiny stuff so people forget its a cavalier lol
jk but im assuming it depreciates heat faster then aluminum...or it can withstand more heat....

No, aluminium loses heat faster, and is also lighter. SS is stronger, but heavier, and less heat loss.

So, a SS intake is actually not that great of an idea then?

I believe I read somewhere on the AEM site that with the 2.4L a short ram intake was just as effective as a CAI. That seems a little strange. Anyone else read this? I haven't seen many CAI's for the 2.4, but many SRI's, maybe there is some truth...

Mine saw 2 winters. Not a single varnish spec on mine. I keep it clean tho. Thus while she still was like a mirror.

How could we arrange getting a bypass valve onto the rdfabs cai for the 2.4 cody? Could you just send it in pieces and then I just stick it in between 2 of the pipes? I would this work?

It would come in 3 different sections, then 3 rubber couplers, filter and clamps. If you would like to use one of the bypass valves, just place it between the upper connection where we would supply you with a coupler, just use the bypass valve instead and use the clamps we provide. I am not running one becuase the only way you would hydrolock your engine would be if you go through a puddle thats 2 feet deep. If you can avoid those, you don't need the bypass valve.

Oh, I just figured any moisture wouldn't be good. Edit* actually now that I think about it, we've recently had 2 pretty bad rain storms that created some passives puddles from clogged road drains i guess so I think i'd definitely have to get a bypass just to be safe.
