Well, Im kinda busy the rest of the year. I may be able to give him a hand after Xmas thou. Oh, where's he at and how much does the job pay?
J/K.:grinno:
Should be pretty easy. Lots of adaptor kits for this swap. He should just go ahaed and make plans to replace the rear D35 with something stronger though, its not going to take much romping on a SB to bust that D35.

Like Ray said, it's easy. Just about every Jeep and 4x4 aftermarket company out ther ehas conversion kits. I prefer Quadratec, they are local to me and I have always been very happy with everything i have purchased from them.

so will the transmission and transfer case match up?
relocating engine mounts is really no big deal,he just doesn't want to have to go through buying/modifying a whole new drive line...
we'll definately check out quadratech, thanks for the suggestions.

You can buy adaptors to mate the transmission to the engine, you can get adaptors to move the engine mounts, you can get HD radiators and fans, you can get headers for that application. You can buy the whole thing as a kit so you dont have to piece it all together. Its not cheap for adaptors though. I havent priced it out but just a guess, I would say at least $1000-$1200 for everything if you friend doesnt want to fab anything.
Try Advanced Adaptors. They will have everything you need for the conversion.
