problem with 98 civic

i had an earlier thread on this board a few weeks ago. I was only driving a few minutes each time , and i came to a stop i could feel the car almost like it was cutting out at a stop light. when i pressed the pedal the car just gave , out and wouldnt start back up, the first time i let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and it ran . could this be a fuel pump? that is what im thinking , any help is appreciated. thanks

Very well could be.
Once the car stops try and have someone turn the key to the on position
(dash lights on) and you listen bac at the fuel tank for the pump to run.
You should here it run for about 5 seconds after turning the key.
Of course the best way is to check with a fuel pressure gage but
if it doesn't run, well that's it for sure.:smokin:

i am going to have someone check the pressure, i am certain it is the pump but wasnt sure if the relay could be bad? I had checked the relay a few months ago,.

we checked pump and it is okay , we think it may be the ignition module.

I have a high pitched ringing noise coming from my engine when i start it in the morning and also when i shift around 3000 to 3500 rpms... what could this be?

There's a lot of things that it could be. Even a loose belt.
My first bet would be the bearing for the belt tensioner.
(pretty common)
It is easy to remove so I'd take it off and check
for any resistance when spinning. They're under $50.00
and available most auto parts stores.
Also while your belts are off spin the alternator and check that too.

eonblue22- has the fuel filter ever been changed?

yes the fuel filter has been changed this past summer. the car died at a light the other day and wouldnt start back up until about a half hour later , ran fine, had my mechanic test fuel pump. pressure, regulator , injectors , and so on. he has been running it on short trips and now it doesnt shut off for him.
