lots of big wesites do this. i believe eBay has scheduled downtime for maintentance. as far as i know it's on Fridays.

The only way we'd be able to do that is if we bought youtube for an insane sum of money. I think the original owners should have kept it because right now it's just as popular as google.

Well if we took over YouTube we'd be stuck anyway. That site doesn't make any profit at the moment. The money they get from advertisers just helps offset the cost of all that bandwidth. So why purchase it you ask??? Because of the potential to make money in the future from the insane amount of traffic... as long as they figure out how to turn a profit before it loses its appeal.

And it works again btw :)
