hello, I have a friend who recently purchased a used 2000 Plymouth voyager, to make a long story short, the wipers didn't work, their mechanic narrowed it down to a problem with a vehicle computer, (I don't have to part number, she is supposed to give it to me tomarrow) they told her she could either get a new computer ($400) or they could install a bypass switch to control the wipers (which would have been cheaper) but she didn't want to compromise the stock look of the car so she went with a new computer, got the computer from the dealership, they used the old one to program it and when she took it to her mechanic, he installed and now the vehical is dead, doesn't turn over, no lights, nothing. I told her to just put the old one in so she could at least drive it, but she said she didn't get it back from the dealership, i told her to go back and try to get it. If anyone knows how she can fix her car please let me know. Thanks!

Sounds like they changed the Body Control Module or BCM. It controls all the electrical functions of the van except airbags and engine electrics. Besides the wiper fuction there is an ignition input to the BCM. This could be causing your whole problem. I would think either a contact or wire at the BCM connector is damaged or the BCM was not programed correctly. The BCM is powered by the IOD fuse in the fuse/relay panel next to the battery. Might want to check it all other fuses.
BTW - You can get rebuilt BCMs for $280. You can send your BCM off and have it repaired for $180. You can get them even cheaper at a junk yard.
