Yet another RM Bike

Well, I am amazed at the work you guys are doing with these bikes. I went out an picked up the "torch". I have modeled a new tank for it and should be having it cut tomorrow at work. I like the old coffin style tanks.

I don't have many "set in stone" plans yet, but I think this is going to be a fun build.

I have a 2D autocad drawing of a coffin tank so far, copied off a 1:1 tank in a bike catalog.

I have one started at home already, cut the top out of .010 thick aluminum but have a long way to go. I'll try to take some progress pix of my bike later this week.

I have the CAD file for the tank I have created if anyone is interested. I will try and post some progress pics tonight when I get home.

Here are 2 pics. The first one is my coffin template. I cut out the series of parts I need. I simply glue them to the styrene with "tacky glue". After the glue dries, I cut the parts out and glue them together. The second pic is the tank as it sits now. I have plenty of filling and sanding to do, but I think it is going to turn out alright.

Great array of coffin tanks, I drew mine 1:1 out of a Paughco catalog and scaled it down. I have a dimensioned drawing of it, which I can probably post as a PDF file, I'll try to scan it later in the week.

I had plans of milling it from a piece of 6061-T6 bar stock but just too many angles involved. I still might have to mill out the tunnel portion of it as an insert.
