Which have you had the best luck with?

I'm not counting the dentist whitening.

never used them, i'd rather get my brother-in-law to do it for me once he graduates dentistry and has a few years under his belt.

I have been a smoker for 9 years and I recently quit. Its been 2 months now (I'm proud). So I decided to try the crest whitening strips because my teeth were not looking good. I had noticed one day in the mirror and was discussed. So I bought the premium ones. And I will swear by it. Half way through my teeth were looking great by the end I couldnt believe how much of a differnce that had produced. A few weeks later I visited my parents and without saying anything they noticed. My girl also was amazed. My teeth werent GROSS but they werent super model white they looked like coffee smoker teeth nothing to be proud of. But yes I would recommend trying it out its cheap and will produce results.

Just brush your teeth regularly. It's not hard.

But if you are a coffee/tea drinker it still won't keep your teeth white. My teeth use to be quite white for only brushing, but once I started drinking coffee/tea all the time they started looking a little bad.

I've only used the Crest so I was more curious as if anyone liked one over the other. I think I may try rembrant next go round just to see.

I tried the Crest Whitestrips Premium about a year ago. A few days in, my teeth started to really ache. It got to the point where I was dreading the next time I would use the strips, so I threw about half the kit out. Did work a little bit though, for the limited amount I used them. I don't have overly sensitive teeth or anything either, and I do brush twice a day and don't drink coffee/tea, they just for some reason have a little discolor to them and always have. I would recommend you try it though.

I don't drink coffee or smoke so my teeth are pretty white.

the reason your teeth were aching (according to my brother in-law in dentistry) is because of the hydrogen peroxide, which is what is doing most of the whitening. it isn't permanent and stops after you stop using the strips (as you've probably found). the dentist whitening will do the same thing.

I've tried the crest strips and got alot of sharp pains in my teeth, I also found that I didn't see a big difference with them.

I like the crest night effects paste. If you can deal with putting the paste on and leaving it on all night as instructed, I found that after 2-3 nights you will see a big difference.

Yeah, it really wasn't worth the pain. I may have to try out the Night Effects though, since knorwj had a similar experience with the whitestrips and liked that. I think I can put up with a little discomfort while sleeping for a few days.

I think that's the first funny thing I've heard you say, in good fun funny, not malicious shenanigans funny.

You have to keep the strips on for 30 min guys why is everone crying. Try not putting most of it on your GUMS and you wont feel that sting feeling.

it's that they make your teeth really sensitive for a few days or whatever afterwards.

Obviously, you haven't experienced it then. Stop acting tough when you have no idea what your talking about. Everyone has different experiences with different products, we were just giving ours. You may not have this problem, that dosn't mean we didn't. I did the procedure correctly, that wasn't the reason it hurt.

Watch your attitude guy. Everyone feels the sting it says it in the directions if you read it. To prevent it do not place the entire strip on your gums, I came to that conclution pretty quickly.

its not the gums that sting. For me it was like a sensitive spot on the tooth itself. it starts after a few minutes of having them on and gets very painful on the teeth themselves not the gums. I don't even think the strips touch my gums when i use them. The fisrt time i used them I literally saw stars, I never experienced such a sharp intense pain. For me it was worse that a broken bone. A sharp pain that just penetrated my teeth and sank into my jaws. Definitely not worth a bright smile in my opinion.

I stand behind the night effects however, a great product for a good price. My only advice is to have a spare toothbrush on hand for removing the gel in the morning as it tends to clog up the brush.

Fact is, you came with attitude to begin with. I will say what I want when provoked. You don't like it, don't open your mouth. The strip didn't really touch my gums, only the teeth. Keep assuming people are stupid and the only reason they have problems is because it's their fault.

i think the problem here is that we are all trying to be big tough "HE MEN".
So what, it hurts a little. big deal. if you dont like it, then dont do it.
if pain turns you on, then its cool too.
personally, i like whatever kind you put the paste in the mouthguard thing and wait fifteen minutes. its not so bad, plus its kinda cool trying to plunge a piece of plastic that just came out of a pot of boiling water into your mouth without flinching... try it. its addictive.

Don't think I'd be able to stand the Night Effects. I can sleep through almost anything, but I bet that paste would make it uncomfortable for me to sleep well.

I know the stingy main yall are talking about. I only felt a bit of it for the first 2 or 3 uses and now nothing. Teeth are more sensitive to cold/hot drinks now, but it seems it has to hit the tooth just right.

i think the problem here is that we are all trying to be big tough "HE MEN".So true. Which is ironic if you think about it. Standing in front of a mirror for 15-30 minutes to get your teeth white doesn't seem too manly to me. :p If you really want to do the manly thing, I say we cover our faces with masking tape and just spray paint them teeth. Yee haw

Seriously though, I used Rembrant for a while, then stop using it after my teeth started to hurt as well. :banghead:

According to Beef Bouritos brother in-law whose in dentistry, Hydrogen Peroxide is a oxidizing agent which "bleaches" pretty much anything it comes in contact with; cloth, bones, hair, skin, etc.

Since Hydrogen Peroxide is the key ingredient, goto the store and pick the whiting stuff (whether it is strips (Rembrandt or Crest), paste, or whatever) which has it in the greatest concentration.

I use the basic Crest whitening stuff. My teeth aren't that bad, but I just keep a box around to "touch-up" every now-and-then.
In my experience, it did produce a very sharp pain on my teeth. The pain came and went, and at its worse, it felt like my teeth were made of porcelain and someone had just came in with a set of pliers and snapped my teeth in half.
But I eventually got use to the pain, and in the end, it is worth it.

If all else fails, you can always gargle urine. Thats how the Romans did it...:)
