Hi, been looking at MkIII Jettas for a first car for my son. I owned a '95 for 8 years and had very good luck with it. Mine was a manual trans, so I'm wondering about the durability of the auto trans. Any info for me?
Thx, Dan D

Get him a manual, In my opinion the Autos have too short of a life span especially in a used car. And trust me your son will thank you for making him learn manual.

Oh I agree, Gotian, and he is learning how, on my Audi A4 6-speed. But I didn't want to pass up a good deal on a Jetta just because it has an automatic.... We are going to look at a '98 Wolfsburg Edition this week-end, with 5-speed... :iceslolan
