Hey all ive got a 97 Z24 with a 4spd auto. Now this is the story. The c.e.l. came on and the tranny went into limp home mode. It would not shift or anything. Now I took it to the shop and they said it was the shift solinoid. So i reaplaced the main one and the ones that go from 1st to 2nd, and that didnt fix it. It came up the same codes and still wound not shift. So i replaced the tranny with one from the junk yard and as soon as i turnd it on same 4 codes. Hade them cleand and everything and they still come and and it still wont shift. Now im wondering if anyone knows anything about this.? The shop said I need a new computer. What do uall think? Thnax KEN

You can use an used computer also,GM computers can be programed over and over again.GM is the only one that does this.It is not a diy project, has to be done at the dealer.Gm's factory scan tool Tech 2,an Ac Delco program installed in a pentium 4 personal computer have to be used to program a GM computer.Take the old computer with you when you go to the auto slavage yard, they need numbers off the old computer to match.
