RPM is too high

Hi Guys,Need help please
My Honda civic 91 when temp is hot ( after i drove couple hours)the RPM is going to 1500
and sometimes i have to use hammer to knock a lit bit the Idle control
is this mean my Idle control is Bad ? or maybe they are something else that i have to search ?

Is your check engine light on? Are there any codes on your ecu (pull back passenger foot carpet and count blinks)? What do you mean by "sometimes i have to use hammer to knock a lit bit the Idle control"?

check engine light is off
if the rpm is high .I mean i do " Tap " the idle control with hammer
and then it will be back to normal.
and i do not know about the ecu thing

Check for vacuum leaks.
