Dode 3500 manual trans will not go in reverse

I have a 1999 dodge 3500 with a manual transmission. I have started to have problems with it going in reverse. All forward gears work fine. I took the shifter out and there is a plastic bushing in there, could it be worn? Any help would be appreciated.
