For those who don't know, that's a R32 RB26DETT, 280hp/280tq factory. And a RB25 RWD 5-speed next to it, since I can't use the AWD setup in my Z...

Stay tuned in the future for updates.

-The Stig-
11-26-2006, 04:44 PM
Well, it's not going in right away, I've gotta prep the car still for body work, I'd like to get the car blasted and primered before we do motor work, so there's no chance of dust getting into the motor and what not.

Then we do motor work, then we finish the painting process. It's a back and forth effort between the two, but it'll come out nice when done... whenever that is. Money is tight right now...

Mr. Luos
11-26-2006, 04:59 PM

I can race you now then.

Once that machine is running...I need to keep my ego. :icon16:

-The Stig-
11-26-2006, 05:07 PM
Deal!

I've got to make sure the motor is broken in though... which means I've got to strap on larger turbos.

G-man422
11-26-2006, 05:20 PM
What kinda #'s are expecting w/ the bigger turbos?

-The Stig-
11-26-2006, 05:25 PM
Anything over 500whp would be acceptable.

Yeah, I might do that once things start happening... if I take pictures now it'll just be of a dusty car sitting. Pretty boring... well, here's a preview.

Him and I have been talking about it for the last hour...

He thinks I'll win cause of my power and weight advantage, I think he'll win cause he has the ability to hook up easier than I do... when it's all done, I'll make the trek up the hill to Colorado... Only 1000 miles. Chump change.:icon16:

Mr. Luos

w00t!!

Would be a hell of a race.
You get cameraman though Matt. Help on the weight.
Would be a much better race if I can down there though. Boost has that compressed air advantage here.

Oh no you didn't!!!!

Please, do, so I can come watch. Just stay out of Salt Lake county. Some local station has started a worthless crusade against our street racing epidemic.

Somewhere in Utah County on a Sunday would work nicely. Perhaps Nuetrino and I could tape it, too bad I woudn't have a chance of keeping up.

Why? If I was going to go through the trouble of swapping in a Toyota motor it'd be a 2JZGTE. It'd be much easier infact in a Z, cause the turbos are on the other side and don't interfer with the steering shafty thing and shock tower. Not as tight a fit.

Still, a '26 is Nissan... so I'm keeping it Nissan. Even if it is a hassle shoe horning it in.

Yeah, but an Rb26 won the final race.:icon16:

I mean, it came out of a Siliva S15!!! The Mona Lisa as Bow Wow called it... a Nur Spec RB26DETT with single turbo.

Red, you fucking bastard! That is a VERY VERY nice project u got going on. I would like personal updates on how it goes:icon16:

And I agree, don't go single turbo. Please don't ruin that engine for what it is, stay with the twins and have it pull ur piece of junk hard from 0rpm - 25,000rpm :iceslolan:p

Acutally all Jap cars "officially" make no more than 280ps (276bhp) due to a Gentleman's agreement between Japanese manufacturers, however many cars make more than that. GT-Rs have Dyno'd as far as 340bhp at the fly in completely stock trim.

I know, I rounded up. 4hp isn't going to end the world.

That doesnt apply anymore. Notice how the 350z can be had at 300bhp, among others that exceed the gentlemen's agreement

i'm not talking about rounding, i'm saying there's a good chance that your RB could be making 320-340bhp in stock form. i didn't mean any offence.

they do now, the first Zs had 280bhp. many cars have exceeded the argeement, but they were all listed as having 280bhp, despite that being very underrated of their true perfomance.

Hmm, doubtful the R32 motor is making that much, maybe a later R32... more likely if it was a R33/R34 motor.

We'll see when we get it in and running, and do a baseline dyno.

Sweet engine stiggy san!!!

It should be capable of massive power. One thing though, the only problem that i see with Rb26s is their weight so try and put it as far back as possible to limit its polar momentum in corners. You have a long engine bay so it should work.

Also why is everyone so shocked that a jap engine uses English? They use English fairly often in japan and even more the Romanji (Latin) alphabet.

PS. It would be awesome if you guys can come to utah, make sure to give me an poly a heads up.
