Hello all,
I have a 2000 Blazer LT with the Auto 4wd. It currently has 53,000 miles. The last time I took it out, when I started it there was no indicator light telling me that I was in 2wd on where the 4wd button console is. As I would drive, every once in a while all 4 buttons on the 4wd would light up and the service 4wd dash light would come on, but only for about a second or 2. Then, it would go out and the 2wd button was on. Keep driving and the same happens. Sometimes the 2wd light will go out before this happens, sometimes not. I do hear clicking coming from under the dash while this happens. If I try to put it in 4wd, it does not work.
Dealership does not seem to have a clue what is wrong. Has anyone seen this or can help me?
Thanks in advance.

Look at the info in the How to/Tech section on this - should help.

Thanks for the reply. I looked though and couldn't find any simular problems. Now it has gotten worse. All 5 lights now of the 4wd switch remain lite and also the service 4wd light stays on most of the time. Sometimes all lights will also go out completely. It is either one or the other. They do not act singlely anymore, and I am afraid to even see if it has 4wd. It is also sending a P1875 code (4WD Low Switch Circuit Malfunction) and is very sluggish at times.
Prior to the lights staying on most of the time, I noticed that as I was driving on the freeway, when the lights on the switch would light up the RPM's would also rev up slightly, almost like it was going into neutral for a second.
Would a bad 4wd switch be doing all this? I am not sure what else to try and either is my GM dealership. Maybe now that the service 4wd light is on and the code is there they can find something. Does anyone know how to test the switch to see if it's bad?
